He received the B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Seoul
National University in 1975, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
Electrical Engineering from KAIST , in 1977 and 1983, respectively.
From 1983 to 1987, he was a member of the faculty at Columbia
University, New York, and was engaged in the development of high field
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and spherical positron
emission tomography (PET) system. He has served as a consultant to
Philips Medical Systems in 1985. He joined the Department of
Electrical Engineering at KAIST in July 1987, where he is now a
Professor. His research interests are digital image processing, video
signal processing and its hardware implementation, 3-D visualization,
and imaging system development such as MRI and PET. He is a senior member
of IEEE, and a member of SNM, SPIE, KITE, KOSOMBE, and KICS. |
